Designed
and coded software which fully automated the complex, error-prone, hour-long
iGreentree Server manual installation procedure, reducing novice installation
times to less than 15 minutes.
The server install:
·
Was
implemented with InstallShield Professional 6, InstallDialogue
custom dialogs, custom VB DLLs, customized C/C++ DLLs, and VBScript.
·
Verifies
all necessary third-party products are installed on the target system and
installs redistributable third-party components as necessary (e.g., MDAC,
Crystal Reports, Pixtran).
·
Allows for
both:
o
Stand-alone and
distributed installation: Business Servers, Webs, Database, and Report Service
components can each be installed on separate servers.
o
First-time
installation and the updating of existing installations.
·
Automates
installation and/or configuration of:
o
SQL Server
database via SQL-DMO
o
65+ business
servers (VB DLLs) in MTS
o
Webs in IIS
o
DCOM
o
Registry
